The Millwright Apprenticeships at Premier are now open for qualified Millwright artisans seeking to advance their engineering careers in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. Based at Premier’s Salads & Pickles Plant in Bethlehem, these Millwright Apprenticeships provide a structured 12-month learning programme combining practical maintenance experience with exposure to engineering projects and manufacturing operations. Participants in the Millwright Apprenticeships will work alongside experienced engineering professionals, gaining valuable skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems while supporting plant maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Millwright Apprenticeships, applicants should have:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Red Seal Trade Test as a Millwright
- N5 qualification
- Experience in an FMCG environment
- Canning and bottling experience (advantageous)
- Valid driver’s licence (advantageous)

Key Responsibilities
- Perform pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs
- Conduct planned maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Fit, inspect, test, and repair MCCs, circuits, wiring systems, and electrical equipment
- Install and commission machinery and equipment
- Align and calibrate machinery for safe and efficient operation
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
- Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed
- Report maintenance activities and technical issues to the Maintenance and Technical Manager
- Support engineering projects and plant maintenance activities
- Travel to other Premier sites when required for additional exposure
