Requirements
To apply for General Assistant Jobs, candidates must:
- Have Grade 10 (NQF 3) with 1 year of work experience, OR
- Grade 12 without work experience
- Be able to communicate in English and the dominant local language
- Hold a valid South African ID or work permit
- Be able to perform basic calculations
- Work under pressure
- Be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Advise and assist customers on products and queries
- Help resolve customer complaints quickly and politely
Merchandising Standards
- Organize bulk stock areas safely according to the store layout
- Ensure shelves are fully merchandised and follow planograms
Housekeeping
- Keep your area safe and free from obstacles
- Label shelves correctly and complete checklists (canteen, toilets, showers)
Safety (OHSA) Compliance
- Follow safety rules and wear safety gear
- Ensure stock areas are safe for customers and colleagues
- Report any safety or stock issues to the Store Manager
Stock Management
- Report damaged stock to the Store Manager
- Maintain accurate records of stock areas
