Requirements

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Casual Cashier Jobs include, but are not limited to:
- Adhering to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures
- Establishing and maintaining a professional relationship with customers
- Reporting customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management
- Meeting the customer turnover hourly rate
- Staying informed about current sales and promotions
- Ensuring colleagues and customers are not exposed to any risk
- Applying Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles
- Managing cash flow responsibly
- Ensuring all line voids and price changes are approved and signed off
- Exchanging merchandise and accepting returned goods when authorised
- Processing all transactions, including cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, and other accepted payment methods
- Processing loyalty cards and accelerator partner cards
- Ensuring cash is placed in the drop safe according to SOPs
- Protecting personal login codes and passwords
- Ensuring all outgoing stock is scanned and paid for
- Keeping all money secure in the till
- Handling daily takings confidentially
- Reporting suspicious behaviour to management
- Addressing customer queries regarding store merchandise
- Adhering strictly to Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures
