Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens under 35 years of age with a valid South African ID
  • Have a relevant post-matric qualification from a recognised institution
  • Not have participated in any previous SETA-sponsored internship
  • Not have been previously employed
  • Submit a detailed CV, motivation letter, and certified copies of ID and academic qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Accepted:

  • ND in Business Management or Project Management
  • ND/BTech/Degree in Office Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, or Business Administration
  • ND in Management Assistant, Administration, or equivalent

Core Competencies

Interns participating in the CETA Client Services are expected to develop:

  • Knowledge of CETA as a corporate and public entity and the SETA landscape, including its purpose and mandate
  • Theoretical understanding relevant to the functional area, department, or unit of placement
  • Awareness of regulatory laws and frameworks, including the Skills Development Act, SDLA, PFMA, Tax laws, BBBEE, Employment Equity, and Affirmative Action
  • Administrative, coordination, and reporting skills through hands-on exposure

Key Responsibilities

Interns will be expected to:

  • Perform entry-level functions for the unit
  • Handle correspondence, maintain records, and support documentation processes
  • Assist with budget coordination and information gathering for audits
  • Support data collation and preparation of monthly and quarterly reports
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and assist with presentations
  • Rotate across divisions within the department for broad exposure
  • Have progress formally reviewed at least once per quarter
