Requirements

Applicants for Groundsman Jobs 2026 must meet the following criteria:

  • ABET / Standard 8 / Grade 10 qualification
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Experience in gardening and cleaning environments advantageous
  • Must be physically fit to lift heavy objects
  • Willingness to rotate across different departments and sites as needed
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Ability to operate relevant machinery and equipment
  • Good communication skills (read, speak, and write)
  • Understanding of cleaning equipment, repetitive tasks, hygiene, and equipment storage requirements

Key Responsibilities

Selected candidates for Groundsman Jobs 2026 will perform:

  • Routine activities for buildings and grounds, including irrigation, watering plants/lawns, weeding, pruning, trimming, cutting, seeding, transplanting, and mowing of lawns
  • Disposal of organic waste and compost handling
  • Spraying plants and general maintenance of infrastructure (roads, pavements, painted surfaces, canals, signs, light fittings)
  • Cleaning offices, classrooms, workshops, roads, and greenhouses
  • General activities such as cleaning, oiling, and sharpening equipment
  • Loading/offloading furniture and repairing minor defects to tools, furniture, and gardening equipment
  • Detecting and reporting malfunctioning equipment
