Requirements
To qualify for the Horticulture Learnerships , applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must not be employed
- Must have a Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics/Math Literacy and Life Science (minimum Level 3 in all subjects)
- Must not be enrolled in any institution or Learnership Programme
- Must not have completed a post-matric qualification
- Must provide SAQA / NLRD verification report
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid SA ID
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old

Primary Duties
Learners in the Horticulture Learnerships will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the operation and maintenance of horticultural sites and plant production areas
- Monitoring plant growth and health conditions
- Conducting basic soil preparation and planting activities
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and irrigation systems
- Participating in plant propagation, watering, and fertilizing processes
- Attending classes as part of the learnership programme
- Participating in discussions and class activities
- Completing assignments and projects as required
- Writing assessments and maintaining practical logbooks to evaluate knowledge and understanding
