St Nicholas Diocesan School is an Anglican, Independent, Co-ed, Day and Boarding School situated in the heart of Pietermaritzburg, catering for pupils from Grade RR to Grade 12.

Foundation Phase Intern (1 September 2024)

The successful applicant must meet the following criteria:

FULL INVOLVEMENT IN ALL ASPECTS OF SCHOOL LIFE IS EXPECTED, INCLUDING:

• Teaching practice and assisting in the classroom
• Sports coaching

REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Prospective interns should be 21 years or older and currently studying a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase or another degree to study a Foundation Phase PGCE
• Successfully completed a full first year of study
• Experience in coaching school sport would be an advantage
• A desire to make a career of teaching, and a commitment to ongoing professional learning
• Alignment with the Christian values and ethos of the school
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Police clearance certificate
• SACE Registration will be required during the year, if not already obtained
