The Military Skills Development System (MSDS) 2027 Intake is a national recruitment programme aimed at developing young South Africans through military training and structured service within the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).
The Military Skills Development System 2027 Intake is officially open for applications. The Department of Defence invites qualifying South African youth to apply for the 2027 programme.

Requirements
To qualify for Military Skills Development System 2027 Intake the , applicants must meet ALL the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen (no dual citizenship allowed).
- Aged 18–22 years with Grade 12 qualification.
- Aged 18–26 years at the time of reporting if in possession of a 3-year tertiary qualification.
- Admission Point Score (APS) of 18 or higher (excluding Life Orientation).
- Mathematics and Physical Science are required for specialised musterings such as aviation engineering.
- Must have no criminal record or pending criminal cases.
- Must comply with medical fitness requirements.
- Applicants will be subjected to drug testing, psychometric testing, and medical evaluation.
- No visible tattoos when wearing a military uniform (verification will be conducted through body inspection).
