Moshal Scholarship Program South Africa 2025
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDER – MOSHAL PROGRAM
The Moshal Scholarship Program operates in South Africa and Israel, with the aim of supporting highly-motivated and tenacious students to complete their university education, which will help them better their future and hopefully that of their communities one day.
The Moshal Scholarship Program currently supports approximately 1000 students in South Africa and Israel. Thus far, te Program has funded 1173 students, who have successfully graduated with complex degrees.
ABOUT THE MOSHAL SCHOLARSHIP – FIELDS COVERED
The Moshal Program is inviting students to apply for their scholarship programme, for the 2025 academic year.
Scholarships will be awarded for Degree studies within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and Commerce fields, at selected universities:
Science:
- Dentistry
- Medicine (MBChB)
- Pharmacy (only at the University of KwaZulu-Natal)
- Veterinary Science
Technology:
- Computer Science
- Data Science
- Information Science
- Information Systems
- Information Technology
Engineering:
- Biomedical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechatronic Engineering
Mathematics:
- Actuarial Science
- Econometrics
- Mathematics
- Statistics
Commerce:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Financial Sciences
- Investment Management
- Management Sciences
Note: degree programs and universities are subject to change at the Moshal Program’s discretion.
ABOUT THE MOSHAL SCHOLARSHIP – SELECTION
The scholarship will provide cover for the following expenses: full tuition funding, living and meal allowances, as well as the following benefits:
- One-on-one support throughout the degree
- Career guidance
- Professional workshops and training
- Additional English training
- CV writing skills, mock interviews and vac work opportunities
Shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified via email.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MOSHAL SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be in Matric or have completed Matric
- You must be studying or intend on studying towards a Degree within one of the fields listed above, in 2025
- You must be studying or have been accepted to study at one of the following selected universities:
- Nelson Mandela University (NMU)
- Rhodes University (RU)
- Stellenbosch University (SUN)
- University of Cape Town (UCT)
- University of Free State (UFS)
- University of Johannesburg (UJ)
- University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN)
- University of Pretoria (UP)
- University of the Western Cape (UWC)
- University of Witwatersrand (WITS)
- You must have achieved a minimum result of 70% for English, Mathematics, Physical Science and/or Accounting
- You must be in financial need, with a family income of NOT more than R200 000 per annum (before deductions)
HOW TO APPLY FOR THE MOSHAL SCHOLARSHIP

Applicants will be required to Create an Account before submitting their application.

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):
- ID document copy
- Passport copy and study visa copy – if not a South African citizen
- Parents or guardians ID copies
- Declaration / Consent Form signed by parents or guardian – if you are under 18 years old
- Proof of all Social Grants (letter or statement, not copy of SASSA card) OR parents or guardians 3 months’ bank statements from ALL of their bank accounts OR affidavit stating they don’t have a bank account
- Grade 11 November results
NOTES ABOUT THE MOSHAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM APPLICATION
Applicants are able to save and resume their application at a later date, but once they click the “submit” button they cannot make any further changes as this means the application has now been submitted.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit the following documents at a later stage:
- Matric final results – if currently in Matric
- Latest full university transcript of results – if currently studying
- Proof of acceptance/ provisional acceptance from your university
- NBT Scores, if available
- Proof of application for other funding (screenshot)
- Parents or guardians proof of income (payslips)
