The Dispensary Support Learnerships at Dis-Chem Pharmacies are now open for motivated Matric graduates who want to start a career in the pharmaceutical industry. Based at the Irene Link store in Centurion, these Dispensary Support Learnerships provide learners with the opportunity to complete the Basic Pharmacist Assistant Course while gaining valuable workplace experience in a retail pharmacy. Successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term contract as Dispensary Support staff while completing their training. Upon successful registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) and qualification as a Basic Pharmacist Assistant, learners may be offered permanent employment with Dis-Chem.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Dispensary Support Learnerships, applicants should have:

Key Responsibilities
- Complete the Basic Pharmacist Assistant learning programme
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing activities under direct supervision
- Help prepare and compound non-sterile medicines
- Unpack, merchandise, and organise dispensary stock
- Accurately interpret prescriptions while following legal requirements
- Assist with medication picking, packing, labelling, and checking
- Monitor medicine stock levels and expiry dates
- Follow up with patients regarding prescriptions and appointments
- Support chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medication authorisations
- Provide health promotion information to customers
- Receive dispensary stock according to company procedures
