Key Responsibilities
- Ensure customers at the cosmetic till point are assisted first
- Process customer transactions quickly and accurately
- Record all sales on the Dis-Chem operating system
- Accept payments including cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, and loyalty rewards
- Process loyalty cards such as Discovery, Momentum Multiply, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks
- Escalate serious or unresolved customer complaints to management
- Maintain professional relationships with customers
- Refer cosmetic sales questions to the Cosmetic Consultant when required
- Ensure accurate cash flow and safe handling of money
- Ensure all price changes and line voids are approved by a supervisor
- Handle authorised merchandise exchanges and returns
- Verify all payments according to Dis-Chem security procedures
- Place cash in the drop safe following Dis-Chem SOPs
- Ensure all outgoing stock is scanned and paid for
- Keep all daily takings secure and confidential
- Report suspicious behaviour to management
- Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and a tidy workstation
- Adhere to Dis-Chem policies, procedures, and Health & Safety rules
- Follow Dis-Chem uniform and personal appearance standards
Merchandising Duties (When Till Is Quiet)
When there are no customers at the till, the Cosmetic Cashier Jobs requires assisting with merchandising duties:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and displays
- Ensure cosmetic displays are neat, attractive, and fully stocked
- Ensure products are correctly priced and labelled
- Follow stock layout and planogram principles
- Face up shelves and ensure correct shelf price talkers are displayed
