Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Restocking merchandise when required to support maximum sales.
  • Ensuring delivered stock and stock taken from the storeroom are packed in the correct locations immediately.
  • Maintaining shelves and checking product sell-by dates.
  • Applying the FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation principle.
  • Ensuring complete product ranges are available on shelves.
  • Rotating stock regularly according to stock control procedures.
  • Keeping the storeroom clean, organised and tidy.
  • Reporting low stock, out-of-stock, damaged and expired products to management.
  • Assisting with cycle counts and general stocktaking.
  • Flattening boxes after unpacking stock and placing them in the designated area.
  • Identifying and reporting damaged or expired stock immediately.
  • Maintaining required merchandising standards and store layouts.
  • Ensuring frontshop shelves and products are neat, visible and properly presented.
  • Ensuring product labels and prices are correct.
  • Reporting price discrepancies to management.
  • Keeping up to date with new products and product information.
  • Building and maintaining merchandising displays according to company procedures.
  • Maintaining the physical appearance of the store and merchandise displays.
  • Looking after designated stock in the storeroom and on the shop floor.
  • Assisting with loading and off-loading stock when required.
  • Clearly marking items that do not have barcodes.
  • Assisting with back shopping when necessary.
  • Handling merchandise carefully to prevent losses.
  • Providing friendly, helpful and courteous assistance to customers.
  • Following up on customer out-of-stock queries.
  • Resolving customer stock queries within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Wearing the correct uniform and name badge.
  • Assisting with training new and existing team members.
  • Reporting suspicious or inappropriate behaviour to management.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy workstation.
  • Following company policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Complying with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Maintaining the required personal appearance and uniform standards.
