Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring that products are fully stocked and neatly presented on shelves
- Checking that products have not reached their sell-by dates
- Restocking merchandise when required
- Following up on customer out-of-stock queries
- Storing and packing delivered stock correctly
- Ensuring displays, labels and pricing are accurate
- Reporting price discrepancies to management
- Keeping the storeroom neat and organised
- Assisting customers with product information and queries
- Processing customer purchases and payments
- Handling cash, cards, vouchers and coupons according to company procedures
- Processing customer loyalty cards
- Ensuring cash is placed in the drop safe according to procedures
- Processing authorised exchanges and returns
- Rotating stock and following stock-control procedures
- Reporting low, damaged, expired and out-of-stock merchandise
- Assisting with stock counts and general stocktaking
- Loading and off-loading stock when required
- Maintaining professional relationships with customers
- Reporting customer compliments and complaints to management
- Assisting with training new and existing team members
- Reporting suspicious behaviour to management
- Maintaining housekeeping standards
- Following Dis-Chem policies, SOPs and health and safety regulations
- Maintaining the required uniform and personal appearance standards
