Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the General Worker Jobs, applicants must have:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
- Basic maintenance or machinery knowledge on General Worker level (advantageous)
- Ability to work in warm abattoir environments with feathers, blood, and strong odours
- Good physical fitness to perform manual labour and stand for long periods
- Willingness to work overtime, shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required

Key Responsibilities
- Clean the DAF unit, feather press, sump pit, and feather area
- Wash equipment and report damaged machinery to shift controllers
- Assist with inspecting broken shackles and yokes during production start-ups
- Ensure machinery operates efficiently throughout production
- Report equipment failures promptly
- Assist with replacing plucker fingers during weekend maintenance
- Ensure valves, scrapers, screens, and pumps remain in good working condition
- Prepare the sump pit room for daily production
- Ensure the feather area is clean and operational
- Clean and prepare the water sieve unit before production starts
- Follow company health and safety procedures at all times
