Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Casual Merchandiser Jobs, applicants should have:

Key Responsibilities

  • Restocking merchandise to support maximum sales
  • Ensuring delivered and storeroom stock is packed in the correct locations
  • Checking that products have not passed their sell-by dates
  • Maintaining complete product ranges on shelves
  • Rotating stock according to FIFO principles
  • Reporting low, damaged, expired and out-of-stock products to management
  • Assisting with stock counts and general stocktaking
  • Following Dis-Chem store layouts and planograms
  • Maintaining neat and attractive shelves
  • Ensuring correct product labels and pricing are displayed
  • Reporting pricing discrepancies to management
  • Keeping up to date with current and new products
  • Building and maintaining merchandising displays
  • Maintaining the physical appearance of the store and displays
  • Assisting with loading and off-loading stock
  • Marking items that do not have barcodes
  • Assisting with back shopping
  • Supporting the training of new employees
  • Providing friendly and professional assistance to customers
  • Following up on customer queries regarding unavailable stock
  • Resolving customer stock-related queries
  • Wearing the required uniform and name badge
  • Handling merchandise carefully to minimise losses
  • Following Dis-Chem policies, SOPs and health and safety regulations
