Minimum Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing customer purchases accurately at the point of sale.
  • Following Dis-Chem customer service policies and procedures.
  • Establishing professional relationships with customers.
  • Reporting customer complaints and compliments to the relevant supervisor or management.
  • Keeping informed about current sales and promotions.
  • Maintaining the required customer turnover rate.
  • Processing cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons and other accepted payment methods.
  • Processing customer loyalty cards and participating loyalty programmes.
  • Ensuring cash is placed in the drop safe according to company procedures.
  • Keeping till cash secure at all times.
  • Ensuring personal till codes and passwords remain confidential and secure.
  • Ensuring outgoing stock and items are scanned and paid for.
  • Processing authorised merchandise exchanges and returns.
  • Handling daily takings confidentially.
  • Identifying and reporting suspicious behaviour to management.
  • Assisting customers with merchandise-related queries.
  • Following Dis-Chem security policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring line voids and price changes are properly authorised.
  • Maintaining accurate cash flow and transaction records.
